  About Lacey

“The Lady of NXT” Lacey Evans mixes the glamour of a pin-up model with the discipline of a warrior.

After growing up in a broken home where everything she owned was shared with her seven siblings, Evans joined the U.S. Marines, graduating with honors from Fort Leonard Hood and serving as military police and on the Special Reaction Team. While still in the service, she opened a construction company, housed and employed three of her siblings, and along with her husband, began the journey of raising a daughter.

Inspired to pursue sports-entertainment after watching a staff sergeant compete at a local event, Evans cut her teeth in southeastern U.S. independents before signing with the WWE Performance Center in April 2016. She has steadily worked her way up NXT’s ladder ever since, wrestling in the inaugural Mae Young Classic and ruthlessly punishing her peers in NXT’s acclaimed Women’s division.

At Extreme Rules, Universal Champion Seth Rollins & RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will both put their titles on the line in a Mixed Tag Team Match in the hopes of getting Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans out of their hair once and for all.

Although both Lynch and Rollins ultimately retained their respective titles against Evans and Corbin at WWE Stomping Grounds, this achievement was only possible after overcoming tremendous adversity. When The Lone Wolf named Evans as his Special Guest Referee and the nefarious pair began changing the rules throughout the matchup, The Man was forced to join the party and take out The Sassy Southern Belle.

In response, Evans and Corbin attacked The Man and her man the following night on Raw, before challenging them to a Mixed Tag Team Match at WWE Extreme Rules. Rollins and Lynch accepted on the condition that, if they won, they will never have to see their adversaries in the ring together ever again. This was a stipulation Corbin & Evans would agree to, provided that both the Universal and Raw Women’s Titles would be on the line.

It will be Winners Take All at WWE Extreme Rules, Sunday July 14 at 7 ET / 4 PT on the award winner WWE Network.

WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring and we see photos of what happened during the Universal Title Match between Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin with guest referee Lacey Evans.

Seth says about last night. At Stomping Grounds, Baron Corbin thought he was going to take this title from him . . .

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch makes her way to the ring.

Seth says Becky kind of interrupted him and Becky asks if she did. Seth says he has to give Baron some credit. Last night, Baron was smart enough to know he could not outwrestle him and get a referee who he would not hit with a chair. He got a referee who would do anything in their power to get the title off Seth. Baron wasn’t smart enough to know that he has the best backup on the planet.

Becky says it pays to be the Man’s Man. They proved individually why they are the champions of their division. Lacey Evans had nothing when it came time to fight and tap out she did. Then Lacey tried to steal a title for someone else and it was not going to happen on her watch. That is when the Man slapped her head off her empty shoulders.

Baron Corbin’s music plays and Lacey Evans attacks Becky Lynch from behind. Becky punches Lacey and Seth pulls Becky off and then Becky with a forearm and kicks in the corner. Baron Corbin comes to the ring and Seth with punches and slingblade. Becky with an exploder to Lacey.

Baron says that Becky saved Seth again and he tells Seth to give his title to Becky so he can go home and make a sandwich for Becky. Lacey tells Becky to get her man out of here or she will get her hands on Seth again. Baron says if it wasn’t for Becky, he would be Universal Champion. Baron says that Lacey is the only real woman around and he would choose Lacey as his partner in a mixed tag match any time. Lacey accepts the offer and suggests the match takes place at Extreme Rules.

Becky says that is fine, but under one condition. When you lose, you are both done. No more chances.

Baron and Lacey talk about it and Baron says they agree. Lacey says they will raise things with a stipulation of their own.

Seth says he does not care and they accept the challenge.

Baron says their championships will be on the line in a Winner Take All Match.

We go to commercial.

It’s becoming clear to Becky Lynch and the rest of the WWE Universe that Lacey Evans isn’t going away anytime soon. Despite falling short in her first Raw Women’s Championship opportunity at WWE Money in the Bank, The Sassy Southern Belle has persistently hounded The Irish Lass Kicker, meaning she’ll soon get her immaculate hands on a second one at WWE Stomping Grounds.

That might appear to be a bold reward for a Superstar whose victories have been largely moral. But Evans has been a consistent thorn in the side of Becky Lynch, who by her own admission was too “content” in the wake of her historic WrestleMania victory to properly protect her Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships. Evans took advantage of that comfort, contributing to Becky’s loss of the blue title — a championship that, for now, at least, seems beyond The Man’s reach — but Lynch didn’t let herself off the hook and has slowly pieced together back the hunger that carried her to the mountaintop.

Seen in that light, Evans’ second opportunity doesn’t just make sense; it seems like ample reward. By continually targeting and getting the better of Lynch, she brought the best back out of a champion who could have just as easily plateaued. The Lady of WWE brought Becky Lynch back to fight. It’s only fitting she gets what she deserves.

Tune in to WWE Stomping Grounds, streaming live Sunday, June 23, at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.
